July 4

Independence Day

Come Celebrate with us in Louisiana’s oldest community along the banks of the scenic Cane River Lake. Full day of activities ending the day with our famous fireworks show. FREE admission. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. No ice chests are allowed. Hosted by Cane River Green Market, Natchitoches Main Street and City of Natchitoches

July 15 & 16

Natchitoches/NSU Folk Festival

220 S. Jefferson Street Prather Coliseum Northwestern State University Campus 1-800-259-1714. This indoor festival is a multicultural celebration of heritage and folk art, music, kid station and narrative sessions. Home to the Louisiana State Fiddle Championship.

The Cane River Green Market (CRGM)

Open each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on the downtown riverbank. Vendors have a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, value-added products, hand-crafted items and much more.  Value-added products include those products that have added features to its natural state such as farm fresh eggs, baked goods, jams, jellies, pickles, honey, cut flowers, herbs, seasonings, etc.  Hand-crafted items include jewelry, woodwork, stained glass and iron work.

September 17

Wings Over Natchitoches

This family friendly event will feature nationally recognized performers in “the Best Southern Small Town in America” according to USA Today.

The show will feature the Air Show Hall of Fame inductee AeroShell Aerobatic Team.  The AeroShell Team dazzles audiences in their AT-6 Texans and is renowned for professional airmanship, billowing smoke systems, and precise formation aerobatic maneuvers.  In addition, Kevin Coleman will exhibit extreme aerobatics in his Extra 300SHP. Additional acts will provide a non-stop show rich in variety.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and plenty of sunscreen.  An adult must accompany all children.  (Alcohol, ice chests, and pets are strictly prohibited.)  Admission and parking are free. Concessions and memorabilia will be available at the event.
